WELCOME TO WCTU ADVOCACY

Advocacy aims to create positive change in the world by speaking out on important issues and taking action to shape a better future. It is a way to make your voice heard, influence others, and help shape policies and practices. Advocacy can take many forms, from raising public awareness to directly influencing decision-makers.

One key focus of advocacy is influencing policymakers and lawmakers to adopt policies and laws that address specific issues. This can include activities like lobbying, raising public awareness, and providing evidence-based information to decision-makers.

Rosemarie Honoré is the Citizen Advocate for WCTU Australia Ltd. In this role, she communicates with parliamentarians at the local, state, and federal levels on behalf of WCTU. She addresses a variety of issues, including, but not limited to alcohol, drugs, vaping, and gambling, urging lawmakers to implement policies and laws that tackle these concerns.

Politicians depend on being elected and re-elected, which means they are responsive to voters. While some issues may garner the attention of certain politicians, most will prioritize the demands of the majority of voters. At WCTU, advocacy gives voters a platform, ensuring that their voices are heard.
